Marjalahti - INDIVIDUAL, 302 g

The Marjalahti meteorite is a rare and scientifically significant pallasite. It fell on June 1, 1902, near the village of Marjalahti in what is now the Republic of Karelia, Russia (then part of Finland). The fall was witnessed, making it one of only four recorded pallasite falls in history.

Its olivine crystals are of exceptionally high purity, leading scientists to adopt them as a standard for olivine composition in research and instrument calibration. Marjalahti's combination of scientific importance and visual appeal makes it one of the most prized pallasites among collectors.

This specimen is a 302g endcut with beautiful yellow/orange olivines, prominent throughout. It is polished on one side and retains the original exterior on the reverse. Provenance from Robert Haag, and can be found in his 2020 Meteorite Catalog on Page 7.
